Selenite has a soft, translucent appearance with a clean, almost minimal feel. It is usually white or clear, though satin spar, a common trade form, may have a more silky, fibrous look with a bright sheen. Some pieces are carved into towers, bowls, or wands, while raw forms tend to emphasize its natural linear texture.

Most commercial material comes from Morocco. Selenite is often associated with clearing, purity, and resetting a space, though visually it simply makes a room feel lighter and more refined. It may show faint fluorescence under UV light, but this is usually subtle. It is less about drama and more about keeping a collection clean and balanced.
