Collection: Ammonite

Ammonite is a fossil rather than a traditional mineral, formed from the ancient shells of extinct marine animals. The classic spiral shape is what gives it so much visual appeal. Colors range from natural beige, brown, and gray to highly iridescent material called ammolite, which can flash red, green, orange, and gold.

Ammonite fossils are commonly sourced from Madagascar and Canada. They are often associated with cycles, evolution, and long-term growth, though even without that layer they add real history to a collection. They do not typically fluoresce under UV light. If there is one especially interesting detail here, it is that you are literally holding a patterned piece of prehistoric life.
