Collection: Petrified Wood

Petrified wood forms when ancient wood is replaced over time by minerals, preserving the original grain while turning the material into stone. Colors vary widely depending on mineral content and can include brown, tan, cream, red, yellow, black, and even occasional blue or green tones.

It is found all over the world, with notable material from the United States, Madagascar, Indonesia, and Australia. Petrified wood is often associated with stability, patience, and long-term perspective. It does not typically fluoresce under UV light. One of its most interesting qualities is that it still holds the pattern of real wood while carrying the permanence of stone.
